Network Development
 
The major aim of network is to build up strong unity and coordination among the local NGOs in Sylhet Division and build up capacities on Training, Fund raising, Donor Linkages, Experience Sharing etc. Particularly to strengthen organizational capacity in the areas of Education, Training, Microcredit and reproductive health care services that makes available resources among the community in Sylhet Division.
 
 

Federation Development:

 

Formation of federation of Village Organization (VO) by the group members of the organization is an integral part of the institution building process for which VARD is approaching the concept since 1995. The federation is in three categories:

 
 

Village Development Committee (VDC)- consists of 9 members from organized group leader of 2 villages.

Union Development Committee (UDC)- consists of 11 members of VDC Leaders.

Upazila Development Committee (UzDC)- consists of 13 members of UDC Leaders.

 
 

The VDC, UDC and UzDC comprise one President, one Vice President, one General Secretary, one Assistant General Secretary, One Treasurer and rest are general members. All members of the committee meet regularly in monthly meetings to identify problems of VOs, build-up leadership, institutional and federation capacity, justify loan distribution procedure, discuss social norms and women rights and build-up cooperation, mutual trust and grass root level people's organization. VARD is providing training for the federation leaders and committee members for capacity build up to smoothly run the federation activities.

 

Facilities available at VARD

 
VARD offers facilities of guest-house (3 and 2 bedded room), Conference Room, Training Room (residential and non-residential), training-materials, training equipment, vehicles services, photocopy, e-mail, internet, telephone and fax those are available both at its Dhaka and Sylhet Office.
